Peroxide Explosion Injures Campus Researcher

 Rotary evaporator

An undergraduate researcher at University of California, Berkley was injured when a glass round bottom flask exploded sending glass into the student's face and upper torso. Most likely, the explosion was caused by peroxide contaminants in the organic solvents being concentrated in the rotary evaporator. Read the whole story.
